Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2010 starting from 6th February to 14th february, in the Kala Ghoda area of South Mumbai, India. Kala Ghoda is a magnet for creative talent, artists, food connoisseurs, fashion designers, architecture buffs.
The Festival is organised by the Kala Ghoda Association (a non-profit organisation that states its objectives as "physically upgrading the Kala Ghoda sub-precinct and making it the Art District of Mumbai") and curated by teams handling each of the sub-festivals. It has been started in 1999, since then it has attracted visitors and participants from other parts of the world making it popular worldwide.
The sub-festivals feature the Visual Arts, events for Children, Food, Music, Literature, Heritage Walk, Theatre, Dance, Film and Street. Entry to all events is free to all.
Under the Dance Category, on 6th February the Schedule includes the dance Performances by various Artists including winners of "India's Got Talent" by Prince Dance Troupe, Orissa in Amphitheatre from 9.15 pm - 9.30 on “Lord Krishna" and “Dasavatar”.
Under the events for Children on 6th February included Paper Bag Puppets in the Parking Lot from 4.30 pm - 6.00 pm Conducted by Arpita Gupta.Puppets made using brown paper bags.
Under the Film Category,on 6th February included Blessed by Fire (Spanish) by Tristán Bauer (2005). The film narrates the memories of a 40-year-old man, Esteban Leguizamon, who was sent to flight on Maldives Islands in 1982 at the age of 18.
