Haryana's Former DGP SPS Rathore was attacked by a student named, Utsav Sharma of the prestigious National Institute of Design (NID) posing as a journalist, in Chandigarh.
When Rathore stepped out of the district court complex and was heading towards his car, Utsav caught him by the neck and in a split second stabbed him thrice with his pocket knife.
The condition of Rathore was stated to be stable. Rathore had gone to the court in connection with hearing of his appeal against the six-month sentence imposed on him in Ruchika molestation case.
Utsav Sharma, 29 years old, a resident of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh has been arrested. Utsav is suffering from mood disorder syndrome and was undergoing treatment for a psychological problem in Ahemdabad. The motive seems to be only one behind the attack on Rathore that he seemed to be angry and got a feeling that justice has not been done to Ruchika. At the end, he should have not taken law into his hands.
